Crutchfield has picked up the new Audiofrog car audio startup, placing it on the cover of its new catalog.
The catalog includes a two-page spread showing the company’s speaker line, which is in the mid to high end segment with a focus on sound quality.
Many of the product are shown as “out of stock” on Crutchfield.com, as the retailers received an early shipment that appears to have been sold out.
Audiofrog said a new shipment will be arriving early in November
Audiofrog was launched by Andy Wehmeyer, former Global Product Line Manager for car audio at Harman. It began signing on retailers in August. It’s speakers use no plastic parts and are all designed from the ground up as car audio speakers rather than home audio products that are reworked, said the company.
Grilles on the speakers are uniquely designed and double as installation kits. And the speakers use copper pole piece cap that is rare for car audio. Prices range from $399 for a pair of tweeters to $949 for 6.5 inch mid bass drivers. The line includes 10- and 12-inch woofers at $649 to $699. A lower end line will be shown around CES.
Audiofrog says one of its key selling points is installation help and service to retailers.
Crutchfield’s Carl Mathews said, “Crutchfield is pleased to help launch a truly different line of car speakers created in every way for the most discerning listeners, but there’s even more tossed in; unique features that will allow easier installation and the ability to add to your Audiofrog system over time.”

wonder how much the cover costs on the catalog?
Well it was nice to see someone jump on it, I just hope sales do not croak.
