DD AUDIO Launches All-New Shallow Subwoofers

Press Release (EDITED): Oklahoma City, OK – DD AUDIO, a leading manufacturer of high-quality mobile audio products, is proud to announce the release of the new SL700 Series, a line of shallow-mount, Hi-Def Tuned Subwoofers engineered for high-performance sound in space-constrained installations.

The SL700 Series subwoofers feature rigid low-mass cones, dual-layered spiders, highly compressed EROM surrounds, and a high-temperature 3-inch voice coil, enabling them to deliver powerful, responsive bass. These subwoofers incorporate recently developed shallow cast frames paired with high-energy motors, making them ideal for compact sealed enclosures while maintaining musicality and control.

Borrowing design elements from the previous W700 Series Voice Optimized Woofers, the SL700s were created to meet the demand for a more application-flexible subwoofer. While the original W700s were known for filling the mid-to-low frequency range, their large motors limited placement options. The SL700s solve this with a slightly reduced ferrite motor diameter and offer an extended lineup that now includes a 15-inch version.

The subwoofers are engineered to deliver tonal accuracy across a wide bandwidth of 30Hz to 300Hz, making them suitable for a broad range of musical styles and system designs. Designed with a soft suspension for enhanced sound quality, the SL700s are made to work in shallow sealed enclosures. Their compact size makes them ideal for installations in truck cabins, motorcycle saddlebags, off-road vehicles, and other tight spaces.

The SL700 Series shares many characteristics of DD AUDIO’s earlier DD9000 and DD4500 models, providing smooth and detailed bass reproduction from smaller enclosures.

  1. Finally a shallow 15. But since it specs out from 30 Hz it might not need that big of a large enclosure. Thanks
