Cicada, a motorcycle audio company, is developing an A2B amplifier interface that would allow installers to add an aftermarket Cicada amplifier to 2024+ Harley Davidson motorcycles. This follows the launch of the first A2B amplifier from SeirenHD and Volunteer Audio to add a Hertz Harley system in the new Harley bikes.
Cicada’s Marty Deane said the interface will be available for spring 2025 at the earliest. In the future, an A2B interface that works with many aftermarket amplifiers may be offered, he said. Cicada is also working on other new products for the new 2024 Harley lineup, he said.
The 2024 Harley motorcycles are different from earlier models as the factory switched to an A2B bus to communicate between the amplifier and the factory radio screen. All the settings and features of the audio system are performed in the amplifier equalization circuits, so installers can’t remove the factory amplifier without a special A2B interface, such as the new devices from SeirenHD and soon Cicada.
The Cicada A2B interface will work with the 2024 Road Glide, Street Glide and 2023.5 CVO Harley models.
