Corrected: Hertz is offering a new audio kit for 2024+ Harley motorcycles that overcomes a design out issue in the new bikes through a third party A2B bypass.
The A2B bypass/DSP module is one of the first of its kind on the market to fully integrate into the new Harley bikes. It was developed by SeirenHD with online retailer Volunteer Audio.
Until today, the new Harley motorcycles required that the factory A2B amplifier be retained to keep communication with the radio. Many installers simply add an aftermarket amplifier on top of the stock amp rather than removing it, said Rob Wempe, VP of Elettromedia USA, Hertz parent.
The SeirenHD/Volunteer Audio A2B bypass module lets users replace the Harley amplifier. The $900 module offers harnesses for Hertz motorcycle amplifiers and is sold through Volunteer Audio’s online website. It can only be sold as part of a $2,780 Hertz system. It is compatible with 2024 Road Glide, Street Glide and 2023.5 CVO Harley models. Retailers must show proof of purchase of the Hertz system to obtain the A2B bypass/DSP.
The full Hertz system includes an SP4.900 four-channel amplifier, a pair of SX 165 NEO 6.5-inch Faring Speakers, SX 690 H NEO Bag Speakers, HHP 14 Wiring Harness and HOG Badges plus the A2B interface (model HD A2B).
Currently, the A2B bypass/DSP module is only available for Hertz’s audio system and is tuned specifically for the system.
Jay Bradshaw of Volunteer Audio said, “SeirenHD built the interface for us exclusively. There may be a universal model, but it will be some time from now.” He said the A2B module is a first of its kind.
Volunteer Audio, is based in Tennessee.
