Wāvtech Ships 5-Channel Fully-Featured Amp

Wāvtech, the car audio OEM integration supplier that recently entered the amplifier market, is shipping its first 5-channel amp, which it calls the “most versatile non-DSP amplifier ever made.”

The 1,000 watt amplifier offers features including start/stop compatibility, active thermal management, built-in adaptive loading, a bass processor, a summing processor and other features listed below.

Mike Morris, Wāvtech President, said, “When we decided to introduce amplifiers, we knew they needed to be different from what was already being offered, or there wouldn’t be a reason for anyone to try them.  That is why we include so many features.  Since Wāvtech is an OEM integration supplier, these amplifiers had to have the best LOC’s we’ve ever made. “

The new link1000.5plus amplifier is Wavtech’s fifth amplifier. It includes a 6-channel summing processor, a 3-way crossover, a proprietary bassFREQ preamp and a 500-watt subwoofer channel.

       Main Channels

• 75 watts x 4 @ 4 ohms

• 125 watts x 4 @ 2 ohms

• 250 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms BTL

  Subwoofer Channel

• 300 watts x 1 @ 4 ohms

• 500 watts x 1 @ 2 ohms

Features include:

Start/Stop Compatible —Operates down to 7V, eliminating annoying power cycling in start/stop vehicles due to starter cranking voltage drops.

Active Thermal Management–Automatically rolls back power output if the heat sink temperature gets too high, avoiding shut downs to keep the music playing.

Built-in Adaptive Loading–Satisfies OEM load detect systems by providing a load that automatically adapts to the signal and eliminates the need for external resistors.

bassFREQ Processor–A fully adjustable parametric EQ with 24dB/octave low-pass and subsonic filters provides bass tuning capability to get maximum performance from any subwoofer.

 6-Channel Summing Processor–Allows up to 3-way factory signals to be summed together to create the frequency range needed for aftermarket speakers and provides independent level trim adjustments for output volume tuning flexibility.
