ATOTO is planning to ship in May to US dealers and distributors, its new radios with advanced accessories, including select vehicle specific radios.
All the radios are Android based and act as mini computers with high resolution screens and sim card slots so they become WiFi hot spots, said the company. The decks have optical outputs and support 24 bit audio. They let users download apps from the Google Play store and they offer phone mirroring through a Carlink kit.
ATOTO claims it offers some of the fastest processor on the market. The two 10-inch universal radios with single DIN chassis differ only in the amount of memory they include for storing apps. The S8 AIO with 4G RAM has a retail price of $699.99 and the step up model S8 AIO Ultra Plus offers 6GB of RAM at $799.99.
As we reported, they may link to accessories including a 360-degree camera that is due for release and a backup camera with streaming video. The radios ship with a remote gesture control sensor.
Vehicle specific radios will ship in the next 30-45 days with 9- or 10-inch screens, mainly for Toyota trucks and Jeep vehicles. ATOTO is planning vehicle specific radios for cars as well as other trucks and SUVs.
The company has appointed The Opus Edge led by Dan Beggs as its US sales arm.
A rep network has been established in almost all territories and ATOTO will work with “strong regional distributors,” it said.
Michael Cai, General Manager of ATOTO in the US said, “Even though there are challenges in the car radio space, we’re thinking forward. As we move into the decade, we’re going to be looking at interesting solutions that don’t conform to the typical radio space. Our factory has tremendous capabilities. We can incorporate more AI and other advanced features. That’s something I think people are interested in.”
Examples are a possible on-dash radio/speaker in a dock that allows users to communicate via ChatGPT. The device could shuttle between home and car.

First, Amazon promotes overseas unlicensed products on their site, and now our own industry publication promote these so called “brands”.
I guess CEOutlook can be bought with “unlicensed” marketing money while undermining dealers like us.
Carlos, I don’t know why you are assuming CEoutlook is getting marketing money for our stories. We don’t. CEoutlook was the one, by the way, who brought up the issue of unlicensed CarPlay in the first place. I chose to write about ATOTO because they are doing some things that other head unit manufacturers aren’t. They are working with 360 degree cameras and looking into AI and they can act quickly when it comes to adding features. So this is something I think that the industry should take note of. I see my role as delivering information that may help industry members do their jobs. I think the story on ATOTO passes muster. If you are outraged about unlicensed CarPlay, reread the story I wrote on it initially, and follow up with those trying to do something about it.
I’m sure every dealer will do their due diligence. I feel it is not the responsibility for CE Outlook to screen press releases.
Are these units GMS licensed by Google or ATOTO infringing Googles IP? I’m surprised CE Outlook is not asking these questions and promoting this type on units. Zero protection for US Dealer/Consumers.
