Ata Ehdaivand of Absolute Electronix, MD is selling specialty dash kits for select rare or upscale vehicles.

For the past year, Absolute Electronix has offered the service, which presently includes 7 dash kits for specialty vehicles. Most are designed to work with Sony’s line of AX radios.  The kits require a minor modification to the radio and Sony will still honor the warranty, said Edhaivand.

He’s also now shipping his first radar/laser dash kit.  It lets you place the display for a Radenso radar system into a Porsche 992, to achieve a factory look, with no cutting.

One kit, the TB12, lets you place a Sony AX series radio, in the dashboard of an S2000 Honda (model years 2000 to 2009).  Another works in a first generation NSX (with the navigation pod).

Ehdaivand, who runs the 12 volt social media group MES Family, said he branched into selling the kits as a passion project.  “Its something I wanted to have fun learning how to do, and to learn to market something outside of what I’ve done for 30 years now.  It’s a whole different marketing strategy than what you do in your store.”

Ehdaivand said customers for the kits hail from as far as Singapore and Japan.

“I’m inspired by my guy Chris Pate.  He’s a huge cheerleader for me, as I am for him.”  Pate of Mobile Toys, Inc, TX branched into selling high end speaker enclosures, creating MTI Acoustics.

“If you use this industry the right way you can be a very successful person.  You just have to pay attention to what’s going on,” Ehdaivand added.

More radar and dash kits will be available in the future. A web page on absoluteelectronix.com for the various kits will be up and running in the near future.  Customers can also contact Ata at  240-654-1283

  1. Great idea! I’m sure you’ll see plenty of success with this project, especially as you branch out to include more vehicles and/or more brands of radar/laser goodies. Best of luck, sir!
