Rockford Intros Bag Lid Audio

Rockford Fosgate  announced new “Bag Lid” motorcycle audio that turns the storage “bags” on the rear sides of Harley-Davidson motorcycles into audio systems.

The new bag lid kit is waterproof and it includes high output speakers that handle 100 watts RMS.  It comes with a custom cut-out guide, and a direct connect wiring harness for use with an existing Rockford Fosgate front audio system (HD14-TKIT).

The new bag lid kit is the model TMS69BL14 at $499.99.

“You can pair the bag lid kit with a Rockford Fosgate front audio kit in 2014 or newer Harley-Davidson motorcycles. This makes a complete sound system because the front audio kit includes a 400 watt, 4-channel amplifier,” said Rockford CEO Bill Jackson. “Two channels power the front audio kit and two channels deliver power to the bag lids. You just need to run the speaker wire harness from the amp to the bags and turn up your music.”

Later this year, Rockford will ship bag lid kits that work in older Harley motorcycles model years 1998 – 2013 (TMS69BL9813: $499.99).

Rockford also announced new Element Ready 6 x 9 inch replacement speakers (TMS69: $499.99) that are lightweight and waterproof.

Additionally, Rockford said it will participate in the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in Sturgis, SD for the fourth straight year.  This year’s event is held August 4-12.

Since 1938, the Sturgis Rally has grown to become one of the largest motorcycle rallies in the world.

Rockford Fosgate will also sponsor the “15^th Annual Mayor’s Ride,” held during the rally.
