PowerBass announced it has hired ORIS Intelligence to help enforce its Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy, which it launched in June.

PowerBass said it will use ORIS’ software to monitor “every single sale online of PowerBass products.”  The software, called PROWL, shows which site lowered the price initially, and which web sites followed suit.  It also shows which sites are the most common offenders.

The software also shows pricing inside the checkout cart on a web site.

The maker of car audio speakers and amplifiers said it will be able to see the percentage of site in violation of its MAP policy at any time.

“The outcome of this will be the ability to protect the brand and enable authorized resellers to properly promote the product and support the end consumer”, said ORIS Intelligence CEO Pamela Springer.

PowerBass said, “We recognize that our high-quality dealers invest time and resources to deliver an extraordinary customer experience through knowledgeable staff and compelling vendor presentation. To support our resellers’ efforts, PowerBass wishes to establish policies that allow resellers to earn the profits necessary to maintain the high level of customer excellence people have come to expect from PowerBass dealers.”

  1. Thank you Ray! We certainly appreciate it and hope that everyone can see the benefits of what we are doing here, this is not a negative thing by any means for our industry this is mainly about keeping our customers and ourselves responsible with our business. Brands and their customers need to grow their bond as business partners and what better way than simply keeping everyone accountable while moving in the same forward direction.

  2. I am always excited to learn about a brand who wants to begin to manage how it is delivered to market. As I have noted in the past regarding such announcements… I hope that the brand actually follows through with its claim. There can be no question that we have a cynical specialty retailer base (for good reason) when it comes to such a claim by brands. If a brand makes a claim and then fails to follow through, the cynicism just increases.

A qualified “BRAVO IN ADVANCE” to Power Bass for actually following through and TAKING MEASURES to make it happen.
