PowerBass announced it has adopted a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy effective now.
It adopted the new policy to prevent resellers from promoting its products primarily on the basis of price.  It said, “PowerBass believes that these practices are unfair and thus discourages such efforts. We recognize that our high quality dealers invest time and resources to deliver an extraordinary customer experience through knowledgeable staff and compelling vendor presentation.”
A press announcement from PowerBass continued, “To support our resellers’ efforts, PowerBass wishes to establish policies that allow resellers to earn the profits necessary to maintain the high level of customer excellence people have come to expect from PowerBass dealers.”

Those who don’t abide by MAP “will be subject to loss in rebates and even termination with a three strike rule in place,” said the company.

Not only dealers, but also distributors will be held accountable, it said.

  1. Good as long as you will stick with it, but don’t be like Kenwood and Pioneer not worth the paper they’re written on.
