First shown at SEMA last year, the Capture from Rigid Industries is now shipping. It is a unique LED bar with a protected slot for a GoPro camera
At $599 (not including the camera) the Capture is the “world’s only LED light with an integrated GoPro charging system,” says Rigid. It consists of a dual row light bar with a slot in the middle for inserting a GoPro. The camera is then protected by a snap-in cover.
The total light bar length is 11 inches, including 16 LEDs with 71 watts high- and 12 watts low- output.
The light bar works with a GoPro Hero 3+ or 4. Rigid says, “We’ve optimized the light output and beam pattern to the GoPro camera’s field of view area by using our patented radius housing and a lenticular lens design.”
The Capture comes in white or black. It is iP68 certified to guard against the elements.
We’ve seen other instances of GoPro slots in the car. This summer, Toyota made a GoPro camera mount standard equipment on all of its 2016 Tacoma trucks.
