CEA Demo Days June

The next Car Tech Demo Days will be held May 16- 18 said Revenew, which helps coordinate the program that started last year to help promote car audio and drive consumers to local dealers.

The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) automotive promotions committee  also confirmed that there will be two Demo Days for car audio this year, with a second one this fall, according to Bob Fields of MTX, who has been appointed head of the committee.

Fields is also actively recruiting car audio dealers to participate on the committee to help oversee the Demo Days events.

Car Tech Demo Days, produced jointly by the CEA and the Mobile Electronics Retailers Association (MERA) for the first time last fall, included over 200 dealer participants.

The event created over 8 million online and Facebook impressions and drew 5,000 clicks on the Car Tech Demo Days national web site.   The object of Demo Days is to promote the car audio category through a national campaign that helps drive consumers to a web site that directs them to local car stereo dealers.

MERA said it has added 1,000 dealer names to the central Car Tech Demo Days web site as a courtesy to its members who may then sign up with Revenew (at no charge) to upgrade their listing so that consumers can set up appointments to get demos at their store during Demo Days events.  The site will also show a dealer’s logo and a link to its store web site.  Dealers also get Facebook and online banners for Demo Days for their web site.

On the CEA side, Derek Pace of Certified Sounds of Hawaii and Paul Pirro of Tint World are serving as vice chairs of the CEA promotions committee that works on the project.  Mitch Schaffer of Mobile Edge, PA and Joe Cassity of Tunes N Tint, FL are also serving on the committee.

Dealers who would like to serve on the CEA promotions committee may contact Bob Fields at [email protected]. Dealers may also contact MERA for more information at 800-949-6372 or Revenew at 877.894.8556 or the CEA’s Willet Hossfeld at [email protected]   Here is a flier on the event.

  1. Dealers that have been concerned over the appalling lack of actionable consumer awareness of aftermarket mobile electronics need to get involved with this program. It puts ME tech in front of connected consumers and links these customers to your store. The program has been refined and is poised to succeed better than in years past.

Let’s all stop making excuses and support this program. Do it today!
