Sony will introduce its long awaited PSP phone in February preceded by the unveiling of an updated PSP handheld gaming device on January 27, said Bloomberg citing two sources.
The PSP phone will be shown at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona as a Sony Ericsson touch screen phone.
Sony will also likely announce a strategy for networking games, movies and music across different devices.
The news leak comes as Nintendo officially unveiled its Nintendo 3DS gaming system due on March 27 at $249.99 and as rival Apple just released its fiscal Q1 earnings showing at 78 percent jump in profits and large gains in sales of the iPhone and iPad. Apple also announced quarterly sales of 19.5 million iPods, over half of which are the iPod touch.
