Nintendo announced official details on the release of the Nintendo 3DS gaming system delivering 3D without the need for glasses. The device goes on sale March 27 at a suggested retail price of $249.99.
The top screen displays 3D to the naked eye while the bottom touch screen is a standard LCD. The system also has a 3D “Depth Slider” that lets you select the level of 3D or even turn it off completely. The device will come in either black or blue.
More than 30 games will launch for the 3DS between March 27 and E3 in early June. They include Pilotwings Resort, nintendogs + cats, and Steel Diver. 3D titles in the works include The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Star Fox 64 3D, Kid Icarus: Uprising and new installments in the Mario Kart, Animal Crossing and Paper Mario series.
