Mid City–the niche supplier of a remote starter for Mercedes-Benzes–now has a custom radar detector system for a Ferrari.
Mid City is a Chicago-based specialty supplier focusing on car electronics for Mercedes Benzes, BWMs, Audis and Ferraris.
It is now offering an interface module so you can use an Escort radar detector in your Ferrari California without cutting into the dash. The module sends radar alerts from the Escort 9500ci to the Ferrari’s built-in display. That way there’s no need to find a place to mount an extra screen or flashing indicator for the detector. The street price for the adapter module is $449 $999 (not including the Escort custom installable detector…or the Ferrari).
There’s also a 9500D module that lets you place an Escort radar detector in a Mercedes Benz, even if the car has Distronic Plus (radar in its automatic cruise control). The module prevents the detector from constant false alerts; but without disrupting your radar detection, said Mid City.
Mid City may be best known for its remote starter for Mercedes Benz. The technology behind it was recently included in a product by CompuStar. Mid City’s version offers an all-in-one SmartKey Starter for Mercedes Benzes that allows you to use the factory key for remote start; no need for an extra key fob. You can even use it for smarthphone control of your Mercedes if you plug in a Directed SmartStart or Compustar module. See video here:
