A Midwest car audio distributors closes its doors.

House of Electronics, a long time Chicago area distributor, has closed its doors and will officially cease operation on May 15, according to industry members.

House of Electronics and its former principal Teg Manchanda was not available for comment.  Manchanda has since become Director of E-Commerce B2C at distributor The Wholesale House in Hicksville, OH as of April this year, according to LinkedIn.

Rumors have swirled that House of Electronics was purchased by The Wholesale House but an executive at The Wholesale House denied this.

House of Electronics was the long time Pioneer distributor in the greater Chicago region until March of this year, when Pioneer announced The Wholesale House was its new distributor for Northern Illinois and Wisconsin, along with other territories, “after a long an valued partnership” with the House of Electronics.

Other House of Electronics brands included Hifonics, Kicker, MB Quart, Boss, Sundown Audio, Soundstream and Rockford Fosgate.

House of Electronics was a family owned business, distributing 12volt products for four decades. It catered to smaller dealers in the region. It was originally owned by Teg’s father Paul Manchanda.

  1. I remember doing business with Teg’s father Paul since the 1980’s selling our Pyle Driver speakers and he was always a class act and a pleasure to do business with. I also dealt with Teg pretty extensively with two other brands in the latter years and he was just like his father being very honorable and a pleasure to do business with. Good luck Teg.

    Your friend always,
    Mark Pyle
