Firstech ships Drone LTE GPS tracker

Firstech is shipping the wireless Drone XT-LTE GPS tracker–a portable, battery-powered anti-theft solution for tracking vehicles, trailers, boats, etc.

Theft in the marine and construction sectors alone well exceeds $1 billion annually, and is on the rise, said Firstech.

The new Drone tracker, originally unveiled at the SEMA Show last year, can mount magnetically and is rugged in construction.

“Drone XT offers 12-volt retailers a premium accessory that can be added onto any project: whether it be audio upgrades, tints, marine wraps, and more,” said Firstech.

Update: The XT also comes with a hardwire harness for more permanent installations in 12-volt applications. When hardwired, it has smart-charging to reduce current consumption until 13.1V or higher is detected (engine running).

The Drone XT-LTE GPS tracker offers the following features:

  1. Built-in Lithium-ion Battery – No installation or wiring required. Rechargeable via USB-C
cable. Firstech will provide specific details related to battery life closer to release.
  2. Unlimited-Range Telematics – LTE telematics and GPS enable tracking from anywhere via a
    cellular network.
  3. Versatile Mounting – Features a durable, magnetic case for instant, secure attachment.
  4. Weatherproof – Water-resistant casing protects the Drone XT in harsh outdoor environments.
  5. Smart Sensors – Movement and environmental sensors trigger location updates only when
    needed.
  6. Mobile App – Users manage all tracking, alerts, detailed history logs, and settings via the
DroneMobile smartphone app for iPhone and Android.

Corrected: The new Drone tracker carries an MSRP of $149.99. Following a 30-day free trial, Drone XT requires a subscription for LTE and GPS functionality. Subscriptions begin at $8.99/month, with discounts for prepaid plans.
