Intoxalock servers have been offline since March 14 due to a Cyberattack, leaving customers unable to calibrate their ignition interlock devices, as required by law, in order to drive.
Affected customers are those required by a court mandate to use the breathalizer devices following a DUI conviction. Only a clean breathalizer test will allow the car to start. But the devices must be calibrated regularly (every 30 to 120 days) and missing a calibration appointment can trigger penalties under many state programs.
The outage has left interlock users in need of calibration stranded, including at car audio dealers, unable to use their vehicles.
As of today Intoxalock is offering a ten day extension on recalibrating customer’s ignition interlock devices. It said the interlock devices themselves are still functional. It is the recalibration service that is experiencing an outage, not the interlock devices themselves.
Intoxalock posted the instructions below for those who need calibration or who require towing due to the outage:
- Intoxalock Roadside Assistance: Many of our customers have a roadside assistance benefit that can be utilized by calling 844-226-7522.
- Other Towing: If you are unable to utilize our towing service or have already had your vehicle taken to a service center, you are still eligible for reimbursement.
- Please document your towing expenses so they can be reimbursed once our systems are fully restored. We will provide you with an update and instructions specifically for this.
- Effective immediately, service centers will have the ability to give your device a 10-day service extension while we work to resume our systems. (States this does not include or apply to: AR, MA, MI and WA. We will notify you if this changes and are working to find a resolution).
- Follow your device prompts to return to your service center in 10 days following the above for calibration.
Future Calibrations:
- Continue to follow your device prompts and instructions for calibrations by taking it to your local service center no later than your calibration date.
- Effective immediately, service centers will have the ability to give your device a 10-day extension while we work to resume our systems.*
Intoxalock will be covering costs that are a direct result of the temporary system pause.

How about a payment today is the last day, I still can not login… they always no reason lock my car, every time corporation I need to pay $75 to the shop and they’re still charging me like 100 something! even the device have some problem it’s still charging me, what nightmare
I can’t even make a payment cause they won’t answer the phones either
This is wrong!! Mine quit working the day after I had it calibrated and they can’t replace it until the site is back up. I have been without my vehicle for almost one week now. Please get this handled asap.
Same thing happened to me. I’ve been with out my car since march 8th got calibrated in time but the device is faulty for the 2nd time in less then A year. 🤦🏻♀️ yesterday after being put on leave of absence at work I called my service center and had it remove.. few hours later I get on my banking app to see where missing money has went. Turns out and talks a lot. Can’t even answer the phone reply to a text or update me with any sort of messages. Leave me stranded without a vehicle and on top of it, take money out of my account without my permission. I am getting a lawyer. I advised anybody who uses and talks a lot to do the same. Yeah they are giving us a grace period but the service centers machines arent working so we still cant drive. Can’t get ahold of anyone even in the emergency text line. Im suoer close to getting fired and cant take care of my kids because of this and its absolutely miserable.
CST, LLC (Intoxalock) customers should be aware that their personally-identifiable info including financial linked to Intoxalock payments is probably up for grabs at this point.
People should be contacting their State Attorney General office (secretary) and filing grievances if they wish future remedy about this.
It’s time to go to another company, It’s been over a week now. Can’t get ahold at the Intoxalock,Can’t make a payment, can’t get it calibrated. How do u spell class action lawsuit !
Hopefully get it figured out by tomorrow because there isn’t any bill to send for a job loss! Went for the calibration Wednesday and got 3 days so if I can’t go tomorrow I’m out of time Saturday or Sunday and gotta be able to get to work Monday
they went down Saturday and have been down since. Dan had an idea that it was hackers. they pissed off the wrong person.
