Here are the details on the new Rockford Punch series, the first new automotive speaker series from Rockford Fosgate in over a decade.
The series focuses on a wide range of methods for improving installation.
Wayne Connolly, Rockford, VP OEM Business Development/Director of New Product Development said the philosophy behind the products is taking 20 to 30 years of experience in improving the idiosyncrasies in speaker installation and combining the solutions into one series.
The three lines in the new Punch series offer the following:
The P1 Series offers 3-way coaxial speakers. It comes with several adapters in the box and a bayonette mount that is designed to fit about 100 different vehicle applications. The tweeter is flush mounted and doesn’t protrude in the front. The P1 also has a removable back piece, decreasing mounting depth if required. Shipping is expected before the close of this year.
The P2 is a convertible speaker that can be mounted as a coaxial or component system. A fairly unique feature is that the tweeter can be serviced from the front. The P2 crossovers can be attached together so installers can mount a tweeter crossover combined or separately for installing one speaker in the dashboard and one in the door. The P2 has one of the first flush mount grilles that can be installed “through the panel,” which eliminates the need to remove the panel.
The new P3 series offers component speakers for vehicles with multi-speaker front stages. It is best suited to vehicles with existing 3-way premium audio systems or custom front stage builds.
Installers can also convert a P2 speaker into a P3. Both the P2 and P3 series are expected to ship in the first quarter 2026 at prices to be announced.
