Sundown just began shipping a 10,000 watt RMS conservatively rated amplifier called the Team-10K, its new top-of-the-line amplifier.
The new Team-10K is more compact than the Sundown SALT series amplifiers, with similar features but more power, said the company.
Aimed at competitors and high end demo builds, the Class D, monoblock amplifier is 1 ohm stable with a dual MOSFET PWM power supply, and several advanced protection systems. Street price is under $2,800.
Sundown says the Team-10K is a “no compromise” amp designed for power and long-term reliability. Users can view performance data, including voltage, temperature and clipping in real-time via a wired remote.
The company said the amp is “slightly” under-rated, as it was clocked at about 17,000 watts at 1.2 ohms recently by Soundcheck Customs. Sundown says it overbuilds as a rule. “Everything we do is underrated,” said Shawn Mayo, Vice President of Sales for Sundown Audio.
