Ford recalls vehicles due to SYNC problem with backup camera image.

More that 200,000 Ford vehicles have been recalled due to interference with the backup camera image within the SYNC infotainment system.

Ford’s SYNC 3.2 R10 RC1 infotainment software may cause a blank screen to appear instead of the backup camera image when the vehicle is put into reverse. Or the rear camera image can remain on the screen, even when the car is no longer in reverse, according to numerous reports including Consumer Reports.

The recall impacts a wide range of vehicles including the 2019-2020 F150, MKZ, Edge, Continental, Nautilus, Fusion; 2019-2023 Ranger, Mustang; 2020-2022 F250 SD, Escape, Corsair; 2018-2022 Transit Connect, 2020-2021 EcoSport, Expedition, Navigator; 2020-2023 Aviator, Transit; 2020-204 Explorer; 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2022-2024 Maverick.

Ford and Lincoln have already recalled over a million vehicles due to backup camera issues, which have similarly plagued other car makers.
