At the 2024 CMA Expo this weekend in Toronto, dealers and distributors from coast to coast in Canada came together to share their passion for the mobile electronics industry.
MTX Audio chose the show for the premier of six new Terminator amplifiers. This marks the first of new MTX products in many years. The Terminator’s Party Pack (two 12s, an amp and sub box all-in-one), which is popular with online sellers and entry level enthusiasts, now has a micro amp that fits into the palm of the hand. This update now enables it to fit into more modern cars with ease (see photo).

MTX debuted several new powersport models including an update to the popular AWMC3 All-Weather Controller, which gets high voltage pre-outs, separate subwoofer control and other convenience installation features. CEoutlook was able to snap a photo of MTX’s currently-in-production dual-tweeter tower speakers and matching cosmetic 6.5-inch speakers.

Cicada Audio debuted a new display board that features an upright flat design with 2×3 footprint. The sound from this board filled the convention floor from one end to the other. It embodied the phrase, “for those of you who think too much is just right!” This idea carried over to Cicada’s new 10-inch template based, waterproof bagger subwoofer kit with a “ported” option as well.
CMA itself is maturing as well. It was extremely well organized, training courses were streamlined, staff was always around to assist, and Ben Woo and Frank Spezzano were always available with any concerns. Well done boys, I cannot wait to see the next chapter of the CMA!
Note: CEoutlook will add further show coverage in upcoming articles.

CMA was a awesome event! Its too bad this article only touches on a couple of the amazing products we had access to all weekend!
No mention of the Kicker Warhorse amps and accessories?
This is coverage of the event from a single distributor. That fact should have been made clear.
The ‘Encore’ CMA Expo this past weekend delivered on the promise of the inaugural CMA Expo, and the evolved format was most welcomed — turnout was great, and Retailer enthusiasm for the array of new Audiomobile products exceptionally strong. Big props to Ben and Frank, and the entire CMA team, and to the Importel crew for their huge support in this critical event for Canadian 12V market. We look forward to next years event!
