JL Audio just began shipping a new compact series of amplifiers called XDM that can be suited to both cars and boats.
JL Audio is one of the first to combine car and marine use in a marine grade amplifier, thereby reducing the number of lines a retailer needs to keep in stock. XDM amplifiers include a unique switch that changes the filtering to suit either a car or boat.
“Our XD line of car amplifiers and M-series marine amplifiers have been the industry benchmarks for compact amplifiers,” said Brian Power Vice President of U.S. Retail Sales at JL Audio. “The XDM series of amplifiers is a welcome evolution to these product lines, simplifying inventory for our retail partners by working equally well in both car and marine applications.”
XDM series amplifiers use Differential-Balanced Inputs that combat induced cable noise and allow for the use of conventional RCA cables, while delivering many of the benefits of a true balanced connection.
In the XDM series, each subwoofer amplifier/sub channel has a low-pass filter with a filter range of 50Hz to 500Hz and 12 or 24 dB/octave filter slope options. Full-range amplifiers/channels have a high-pass filter with a 50Hz to 5KHz filter range, and some also add a bandpass filter option. Both high-pass and bandpass filters offer a 12 dB/octave filter slope.
The amps have a remote level control port, and can be paired with optional JL Audio HD-RLC and MHD-RLC amplifier remote level controls.

Aunex was marketed as having all four lines of amps all marine capable and one line as submergible. RIP Steven.
Not really sure how differential inputs changes what vehicle these can be installed in. Sounds like marketing to me. We’ve all been installed marine amps in cars for years, mostly due to availability.
XDM is a blend of features found on two separate amp platforms now available in a single model. Making stocking inventory easier for retailers.
I recognize your efforts. While the benefits of differential inputs are very real, this pitch is 100% marketing. Still, I’m sure the amp is very solid. Good luck.
