As the Internet is where half of adults shop exclusively, DD Audio, a long-time dealer-direct brand, is adding its first Internet dealer and distributor.
Sky High Car Audio will become DD Audio’s first U.S. wholesale distributor. Sky High Car Audio currently offers a lineup of car audio, battery, alternator, and accessory brands. It will sell DD Audio through its own online store. And it will distribute the brand to brick and mortar car audio dealers.
DD Audio will also sell online through WoofersEtc.com, which it calls the world’s largest online car audio superstore. WoofersEtc will also sell through its third party online sites.
DD Audio said it will maintain a strict Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) policy. “We will be watching that. We are still committed to supporting our dealers, and making DD Audio an attractive and profitable line with high performance products and superior customer service. In order to protect that, we must have MAP in place,” said Product Manager Kevin Doyle.
“Faced with the reality that more than 75% of adults shop online and more than 50% prefer to shop online exclusively, being searchable and available online is a requirement for a brand to successfully compete with the rest of the 12V audio industry,” he said.
The new distribution agreements are already in place and the products are expected to appear online by the end of the year.
“DD Audio will continue to be deeply committed to supporting our traditional brick-and-mortar retailers,” said Doyle.
We’ve all seen where this goes…lol
Welp. They’re a whole different brand now. Hope they’re ready for the dealer ripple…
