Oddball Install: Jeep Gladiator

Oddball Install Jeep Gladiator

By Mr Retail

Wicked CAS in Kingston, NH recently submitted a unique install in a Jeep Gladiator. This particular truck is owned by the shop and they initially installed one of the large screen radio solutions from …(Brand X, let’s say) and didn’t like the sound quality.  Wicked is an authorized dealer for Kenwood and they love the DMX1057XR 10.1-inch floating screen unit, but there’s no kit solution to install it in this JL Series Wrangler/Gladiator platform. After consulting his team, Nazar Demir, the owner decided to fabricate a solution for the vehicle.  This way, a client’s vehicle would not be the guinea pig.

The process began by disassembling the Kenwood unit and trying different ways to mount the screen. In the end, they used a Metra kit along with items they fabricated in the shop. One important note is they didn’t modify any of the Kenwood ribbon cables.  As you can see in the pictures, the end result is a unit that looks beautiful in the dash. And when you add in the reliability, sound quality, and ease of use on the DMX unit, Wicked CAS thought they had a winner on their hands.

But the true test of a winner from a business owner is salability, and they got that. As they pitched the new idea, clients loved it. And when you think about the fact that if this prospective client goes to another dealer and asks about it, they will be told “Kenwood doesn’t have a solution to put a 10” screen in your Jeep.” Who looks good now and builds a following in the lucrative Jeep market? Well done Team Wicked CAS!

  1. I will attest to the fact that since the day Wicked CAS opened (and yes, I was there) they have exhibited a perspective on solution based selling that few shops ever attain. They nail it!

    Well done, NAZ!
