Former National Sales Manager for BOSS Audio, Jason Hannon, has been named VP Sales and Marketing for Triton Audio, the new audio brand offered exclusively through members of the Elite Distributor Alliance (EDA) distributor buying group.
Hannon reports directly to Jim Warren, Executive Director of the 11-member EDA.
Triton Audio offers amplifiers and speakers and now marine and powersports products and has expanded from about a dozen SKUs at launch to over 55 models.
As of Friday, Hannon is in charge of all day-to-day operations. “My goal is to continue to work with the existing [EDA] members and…new and existing dealers through product and training and new product we’re going to be developing as well.”
Triton offers a number of advantages as an EDA brand. It doesn’t have to pay for the cost of a central warehouse, as product is shipped directly to the 17 warehouses owned by EDA distributors. It doesn’t need manufacturer reps and it offers high dealer margins.
“One of the things they do a little differently, is…everyone being part of EDA, everyone [all its distributors] share a set of values…. in how to go to market. Triton goes to market with one strategy, one online strategy,” Hannon said.
Product is engineered in the US and “voiced” in the US, where you determine the sound of the product, and then manufactured at five factories overseas.
One of the new product categories to be added by the label are marine subwoofers, said Hannon.
Triton did not state the number of dealers it sells through although one of its distributors, DOW Technologies said it has 200 current Triton accounts.
Hannon was at BOSS Audio for eight years, starting as a Key Accounts Manager. He is based out of the Triton office in Orange County, CA.
