Car Toys has appointed a new head buyer for the 50-store chain. Gregg Thomas has assumed the post of VP Merchandising, according to industry members.
Car Toys would not return our requests for confirmation.
Thomas has held posts at SiriusXM and at Ultimate Electronics. But in 2013 he moved into the tech startup space, helping new companies launch on Kickstarter or Indiegogo and then move to brick and mortar. He also served as Director of Sales at Fizzics, which appeared on Shark Tank, and makes the DraftPour, a dispenser that converts canned or bottled beer into draft beer.
Thomas served at SiriusXM for 8 years, from 2005 to 2013. He was SiriusXM Director, Business Alliances-Distribution, In-Vehicle & Accessories.
Prior to that, he was at Ultimate Electronics, overseeing the 12 volt department. He became Merchandise Manager for car audio as well as cell phones and accessories.
Thomas apparently replaces Janine Mitchell, who was VP Merchandising and Supply Chain at Car Toys.
