Alpine announced a new 9-inch mechless (CD/DVD-less) AV System for the all-new 2018-up, 4-door Jeep Wrangler JL.
The Alpine i209-WRA-JL is the first aftermarket radio upgrade with a 9-inch screen for the JL version of the Wrangler, said Alpine.
The mechless design includes AM/FM, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth wireless technology, and HD Radio. The unit is also SiriusXM-ready. Its 9-inch capacitive screen has a ruggedized dash bezel, with hard keys for commonly used features.
Up to eight vehicle accessories (such as a winch and light bar) can be controlled from the touch screen using an optional controller. Also an optional camera switcher allows up to three cameras to be added to the i209-WRA-JL. Switching between camera images is done through the touch screen.
An included iDatalink Maestro module retains select factory features and displays vehicle information on the 9-inch screen.
The i209-WRA-JL will be on display at the SEMA Show in the Smittybilt booth (South Hall, #35061). It will ship in February 2019 at a price to be announced.
