After years of supplying high end car audio speakers, Morel announced its first aftermarket audio amplifier line.

The line was designed to be “exceptionally musical and dynamic, with clean, uncolored powers that can drive speakers to their full sonic potential,” said Oren Mordeachi, Morel CEO.

Called the Morel Performance Series (MPS), the line includes the MPS 1.550 Monoblock Class D Subwoofer Amplifier with 550 watts total power at 2Ω, 1 channel;  and the MPS 4.400 4-Channel Fullrange Class AB Amplifier with a 400 watt total power rating at 2Ω, 4 channels.  Joining these is the  MPS 5.950 5-Channel Class AB+D Amplifier, rated at 950 watts total power at 2Ω, 5 channels.

Each model uses a single sided circuit layout with all connections on one side of the amplifier, making installation simple.   Preamp tuning and setting options are located under a removable panel at the top of the amplifier.

The amps can integrate with OEM audio systems through the RCA input with an adaptive connector, and they offer auto turn-on via signal sensing or DC turn-off sensing.  Morel says these features usually found in much more expensive amplifiers.

The MPS line also uses High fidelity Texas Instruments OP amps and ultra-low tolerance surface mount components to “keep the integrity of the audio signal as pure as possible,” said the company.

Suggested retail prices are $399 each for the 1.550 and 4.400 and $699 for the 5.950.  The amps are expected to ship the first week of September.

  1. Having had samples on the test bench and run up in cars I can assure you these are not “just another amp” or indeed “cheap”
They are NOT your typical off the shelf amp with a brand name stuck on it being sold by so many manufacuters, build quality / internals layout is excellent, sound is clean and very linear.
