Directed is introducing new 2-way, long range LED remote transmitters for remote start that use rechargeable batteries.
The company said it was able to incorporate rechargeable lithium ion technology into its remotes without sacrificing range or performance.
It claims the remotes are still the thinnest available in their class with the same features and weight.
The remotes use a standard micro-USB charging cable, and are fully charged in less than an hour, with a full charge lasting more than six months, said James Tuner, Senior VP of Product Development and Engineering.
The rechargeable remotes will be available for the Viper, Clifford, Python, and Automate brands.
The new rechargeable remote transmitters are available in the following part numbers:
