One of the first aftermarket car radios to work directly with a DVR/driver safety device will be introduced at CES next month by Kenwood.
The new radio, model DMX7704S, can display images and warnings from a driver safety DRV-N520 Drive Recorder–a DVR with collision warning that alerts the driver when he’s approaching the car ahead too fast.
The DRV-N520 has no screen so it is designed to work with the Kenwood DMX7704S radio. Users see collision warnings on the screen and can also view video footage from the DVR.
The Kenwood DMX7704S radio is a double DIN mechless (CDless) model with CarPlay, Android Auto and AM/FM radio. It can also control the DRV-N520 from the radio.
The DRV-N520 will ship in the first quarter at a price to be announced. The DMX7704S is expected to ship in March at a price to be announced.
Kenwood will display at booth 4602 in the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center January 5-8.
