Pioneer Announces 2016 AV Radios

Pioneer Electronics announced a new line of AV DVD receivers, that now offer Spotify and support FLAC file playback.

Spotify is a built-in source in all but two of the new units, joining Pandora. Listeners can control Spotify from the radio via a Bluetooth for Android phones and Bluetooth/USB cable for the iPhone.

The line also now offers presets for Pandora stations.

Of the 9 new AVH-line radios, 5 have advanced Bluetooth and Siri Eyes Free for access to Apple’s Siri voice control with the press of a key.

The lineup, available in November, starts at $230 suggested retail price for the AVH-180DVD, followed by the AVH-280BT at $280, the AVH-X1800S at $280, AVH-X2800BS at $330 and the AVH-X3800BHS at $380. Also in the line at $430 is the AVH-X4800BS, $480 (AVH-X5800BHS), $450 (AVH-X6800DVD) and $500 (AVH-X7800BT).

The AVH-X3800BHS and AVH-X5800BHS offer two camera inputs—the first for an optional backup camera and the second for an additional device camera for towing, parking or driving.

Two models in the line are single-DIN devices with a 7-inch motorized screen including the AVH-X6800DVD and AVH-X7800BT.

Other features include SiriusXM on the AVH-1800S, AVH-X2800BS, AVH-X3800BHS, AVH-X4800BS AVH-X5800BHS and HD Radio on the AVH-X5800BHS and AVH-X3800BHS.
