NAV-TV filed a complaint against CRUX Interfacing Solutions for patent infringement in the Eastern District of Texas on August 27.

The suit alleges that CRUX infringed on NAV-TV’s products such as its NTV-KIT260 video in motion kit and the NTV-KIT391 backup camera interface and calls for a trial by jury.

It claims the violation of NAV-TV patents involving communication between a vehicle’s data bus and firewall, patents 7,917,261 and 8,103,407.

CRUX said it denies the allegations in the complaint and it has retained counsel to dispute them.

  1. Patent infringement is a serious matter that should not be taken lightly. It is nothing less than theft. A patent holder is not able to pick and choose who is infringing. The infringer must cease its unlawful infringement or suffer the consequences of their actions.

  2. We need to be working together against OEM instead of fighting amongst ourselves. OEM is doing their best to shut us out and aftermarket companies are trying to ride the fence and sell anyone and everybody but then wants us to represent their brand as a premium product. Even though a consumer can buy the same thing we have in a big box store, Amazon or EBay at a better price.
