Industry veteran Steve Witt has returned to the car electronics aftermarket as President of American Road Products, maker of backup sensors.
Witt, a 27 year veteran of Alpine Electronics who became VP Marketing (and was subsequently VP Mobile Audio at VOXX), is now part owner of American Road along with two other private investors.
American Road is the only company which sells 4-sensor license plate mounted back up sensors as it has a patent on the system. It offers specialist retailers high 50-point margins.
American Road also now distributes the 360 OmniVue Suround camera system with four cameras that mount around the vehicle and connect to a processor that stitches the images together for a full 360 view around the vehicle. The OEM grade system also shows parking grid lines when backing up and it connects to the turn signals to show a view of blind spots when changing lanes. Suggested retail price is $1,199.

Steve, congrats on the new venture.
Let me know if we can help.
Welcome back Steve
Good for you, Steve.
You just cannot stay away from this business; can you? I’ve tried to do something else but everything else is so boring.
Best of luck to you Steve !
