Under Apple’s iOS 8.3 update, just released to developers, drivers will have the ability to connect their iPhone wirelessly to a car that supports the Apple CarPlay system.

Previously users were required to plug in the phone via USB Lightning cable.

Users can simply press and hold the voice control button on the steering wheel to launch CarPlay’s system that lets you control music, navigation, messaging and some apps from the car radio in a simple user interface.

CarPlay is also available in Pioneer and Alpine radios and will be offered this year from Kenwood and Parrot.
