Carey William Moran 66, of South Dartmouth, MA and formerly of Rumford RI, died Wednesday January 7, 2015 surrounded by his family at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford MA after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sandra Zeitz Moran; three daughters, Dawn, Jill and Elizabeth; seven grandchildren and two sisters.
For over four decades Carey was sole owner of Sound Source Marketing, a New England manufacturer’s representative firm specializing in automotive electronics.
Both Sunday’s calling hours in Providence and Monday’s service in nearby Rumford RI were well attended by area 12 volt dealers, distributors, factory personnel and fellow reps as well as family and friends paying their respects and sharing memories.
He enjoyed music, traveling, the ocean, all animals, dining out and the New England Patriots. However, most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Carey was well known for his sense of humor and sharp wit. His life was best encapsulated by Jodi O’Connor–a friend, business associate and owner of Connecticut distributor A-Z Auto Sound– who wrote “His optimistic attitude and contagious laugh always made him fun to do business with.”
He will be missed.
Carey was unique. He knew every body. I think he was one of the hardest working rep’s I knew.I liked the guy. Yo Carey RIP.
In addition to being a great friend who I will miss, Carey was one of the best reps I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. His passing is a real loss for our industry.
RIP Carey. You always conducted business with a smile and a firm handshake. I will remember you fondly.
“With each passing moment we all become part of the past. Let us take a minute to remember.”
Carey RIP
