German Maestro, the boutique car audio brand based in Germany, is not rushing to choose a new US distributor, although it plans to do so in the future, and it is receiving applications for the role.

It is currently basing all sales and service for the US out of Germany and handling all product support and sales via email with  headquarters in Obrigheim, Germany.

US retailers receive free shipping from Germany with an $85 service fee for orders under $550.

The changes follow the resignation of Ray Windsor, a veteran car audio executive who announced his resignation as German Maestro USA President in late June.

German Maestro CEO and Managing Director Oliver Schmidt said, “our first aim was to continue the US dealer supply as quick and conveniently as possible. ..After a week of continuous negotiations with UPS, US dealers now can order products directly from Germany…. [that] arrive within 48 hours (workdays).”

He added, “For the future, our aim is to get another local distribution for our brand of course. Several inquiries already arrived here. However, we won’t rush that decision. Right now, I’d say our supply and service level is very acceptable so we are not too much under pressure here.”

German Maestro launched in the US as a specialist speaker brand around 6 years ago, selling drivers made in the factory in Germany where the original MB Quart speakers were built and employing some former MB Quart employees.
