Veteran car audio executive Ray Windsor announced his resignation from boutique supplier German Maestro USA as President.

He continues to run a consulting firm called Leadership Systems.   His last day at German Maestro will be announced in the coming days or weeks, he said.

“For the past six years, in partnership with the founders in Germany I have put forth much effort, expended significant energy and engaged many resources, aimed at the mission of building German Maestro into an important brand to the specialty retail community in the United States.  During this time we have enjoyed successes and suffered failures,” Windsor said.
“I shall set about the business of finding a way to use my next 10 or so working years toward adding value to the business, and perhaps, personal lives of the people with whom I work,” he said of the car audio market.

German Maestro launched in the US as a specialist speaker brand around 6 years ago, selling drivers made in the factory in Germany where the original MB Quart speakers were built and employing some former MB Quart employees.

Parent Maestro Badenia told retailers in an email that it will continue to handle US business from the office in Germany, and that next week retailers will receiver more information.

  1. A sincere and humble thank you to all for your kind and most generous words.

Fast Eddie, I’d give the guys in Germany a chance before dismissing them altogether. I certainly can’t guarantee what they’ll do or if they’ll be successful doing it. BUT, I know they want to…

  2. As one of the many German Maestro dealers, I respectfully look forward to whatever Ray chooses to devote his time to in the future. I hope that Maestro in Germany chooses to continue to support the US market as well as Ray and his team did……I’m sure I speak for the rest of the German Maestro dealers when I say : thanks for all of your hard work to build yet another fine Brand!

  3. So Ray is leaving? And next week the 10 or so retailers in the US will receive more information from the parent company in Germany. This smells like the good old BY BY US Market bail out….

  4. Unfortunate turn of events. Ray built Eclipse into an iconic brand during his time there. German Maestro is a good product and Ray has been a stalwart friend to the specialty retailer.
