The Mobile Electronics Specialists of America (MESA) buying/marketing group, has more than doubled its membership in the past year and has just signed on its 100th member.

Last year at this time, the group had 43 members. Since then it launched a new “Gold program,” for retailers with revenues from $700,000 to $1.8 million annually, that has attracted 49 new members.  Also its original Platinum program for higher grossing retailers now has 51 members.

In total, the group represents almost $230 million in collective revenues and it expect to climb to $300 to $325 million within the next 18 months.  It hopes to bring its Gold membership up to 75 dealers.

The group represets 215 storefronts.

“No Member has ever left the group in the history of the organization which for me speaks volumes,” said Andrew Geisheimer, Director of  MESA. “Adding 57 members in 10 months is an amazing achievement and we couldn’t be more pleased with the direction of this group.”

The group will hold its annual meeting in Denver, September 6-8.

Currently, MESA is in the midst of rolling out its car AV fit guide to members.  The guide is a data base for showing which products work in which cars with which accessories, down the trim level and model year of the car.  It was developed by Custom Sounds of Austin, TX and has been rolled out to 20 members.  An additional 20 members are getting the fit guide presently. It will be available to all MESA members as of September.

The guide allows even a novice salesmen to accurately and quickly quote a price on an installation. It eliminates the all to0 common problem of finding out halfway through the job that an extra kit is necessary, which the retailer then pays for out of pocket, cutting his profit.
