Radar detector maker ESCORT has named former VP of product development Tim Coomer as the interim chief executive. A permanent CEO is expected to be named in coming months.
Coomer has served at ESCORT for more than 20 years and has overseen new product releases including the recent Passport Max, the first all digital radar detector. In his new role, he will oversee the day to day operations of ESCORT.
ESCORT’s former President and CEO, John Larson, left the company in January to pursue other business activities. A member of the board has been acting as interim chief executive until now.
Coomer’s appointment was effective Wednesday.
ESCORT was purchased in October of last year by a private equity firm, Monomoy Capital Partners, based in New York, NY.
