LONG BEACH, CA.– Kenwood USA said it will begin shipping power optimization stations to authorized Kenwood retailers on May 1st 2014. These Power stations incorporate cutting edge technology that will optimize Kenwood amplifiers by improving efficiency and increasing power. (In many cases a 22% increase in power was realized).
This technology will work on 2010-2014 Kenwood and Excelon amplifiers once it is fully implemented at the dealer level. Rick Noetzli, product manager for Kenwood USA stated “The power station has normal amplifier connections. Once connected the door is closed and a test signal is sent via the RCA inputs the output is then measured. Thirty-four different parameters from the input circuitry to the output devices are measured and adjusted via Bluetooth by the power station. A bell dings to tell the install tech when it’s finished optimizing.” The Power station features a very well lit test compartment making it easy to see what you are doing when connecting the amplifier.
Dave Hoag, Sr. Vice President said “The Power stations will be sent to authorized Kenwood dealers at no charge and it will be another value added feature our dealers can provide to our customers.” When asked if people were asking for this type of technology he replied, “Henry Ford once said if he asked people what they wanted people would have said a faster horse, we feel that this may be that faster horse.”
