TEMPE, AZ – Rockford Fosgate said its updated Prime Series R1 subwoofer line is now shipping.
The 2014 line includes 10- and 12-inch subwoofers and four sealed enclosure options, totaling six models.
“Our 2014 R1 models are a step up from their predecessors. They now work great in sealed and vented enclosures, have an integrated trim ring, and increased power handling of 200 watts RMS,” said Jake Braaten, Rockford Director of Product Development.
The subwoofers are Klippel-verified and CES-2013 Compliant.
They include an aluminum curvilinear dust-cap to dissipate heat generated by the increased power handling.
They also have a solid stamped steel frame and integrated frame mounted compression terminals.
The line leads with an R1S4 10-inch, 4 ohm subwoofer with a single voice coil and mounting depth of 4.4 inches. Street price is $59.99.
The line caps with an R1-2X12 sealed enclosure with two 12-inch subwoofers. Power handling is rated at 400 watts RMS with a street price of $249.99.
