A writer decided to bring his car into a local shop to determine just how well it ranked in bass against a Ford Fiesta.
The local shop happened to be in Johannesburg, South Africa, where this story takes place, but it pitted a factory radio in a Honda CR-Z against a Fiesta ST hatchback.
A Sound Pressure Level (SPL) meter showed the Ford at 113.6 dB at 53Hz. The Honda beat it with a reading of 115dB at 53Hz (achieved with the subwoofer volume set to zero).

That combined with some RTA charts and a basic IASCA score sheet would be pretty neat to see.
Slow day in the news?
