A number of leading distributors are now displaying at Spring Break Nationals, giving the show a higher profile “business” side for members of the car audio trade.
“Yes, it seems we finally are turning the corner for more trade action than in the past,” said Paul Pappadeas, founder of the annual spring rite that attracts thousands of kids on spring break for a sound off/party. The show kicks off this Saturday, March 22 through Sunday, March 23 at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Distributors Dow Electronics of Tampa FL; Audio America Jupiter, FL; Ultimate Marketing Distributors of SC and Jackson, FL; and Vickers AV, Atlanta, GA are exhibiting on the floor, holding dealer meetings and sponsoring seminars. Some are also offering show specials. Atrend, which now distributes ZAPCO is also attending.
This year, a section of the expo floor is dedicated to quieter listening for audiophile product demos. All noise must be under 95dB so vendors can focus on sound quality demos.
Dow is offering about 14 product and installation training sessions, while Audio America is hosing dealer meetings.
Dow seminars include training for products from Sony, Compustar, Mobileye, AudioControl, Kenwood, and ARC Audio. Seminars also include training in OEM Integration and fabrication.
Master trainer Bryan Schmitt of Mobile Solutions is hosting training on:
- How to form perforated metal to any grille shape
- Laminating different layers of acrylic
- Advanced router inlay techniques
- Making your next installation world class with cutting edge techniques
Metra is offering an “installer institute.” Also at the event is a Phoenix Gold factory sales and technical seminar led by Ken Wiseman and Jeff Smith.
