In the car electronics aftermarket, where big TV ad campaigns are sparse, Aamp is bucking the trend and preparing a 6-figure (or higher) TV ad campaign to promote its car audio products.

The campaign will include network and cable TV as well as radio and YouTube ads (the YouTube video ads that run before a video loads for the viewer).

It’s Aamp of America’s first TV campaign ever.

It will launch in the second quarter, starting in 3 mid-sized test markets and then roll out nationally around September.

During last year, Aamp focused on refining a message and devising a way to explain simply what car audio products and accessories can do for the consumer.

“Last year we invested in defining the spots, in learning how to speak to the consumer in a way they’d understand,” said Aamp’s Marketing Director Tracy Hoeft, noting that the consumer doesn’t care about the technology but how it helps them

“No one know how to sell this stuff,” when it comes to presenting it simply to the general public, he said.

Hoeft added, “We are confident we have something consumers want and that dealers have something consumers want and we’re going to go the last mile.”

A second part of the campaign permits retail partners to remake the ad with their own name on it for radio, TV or Facebook.  Aamp said it is currently talking to retailers about joining the campaign.

  1. Cheers to AAMP of America! Our industry suffers most due to lack of consumer knowledge of what we do. ANY attempt at changing that deserves recognition.
