As rumored, Apple announced a new flagship 4th generation iPad tablet, with 128GB of storage, double that of the previous top model at 64GB.
The extra memory on the device may be used for storing videos and music files, or for corporate or educational files such as 3D CAD or even X-rays.
Apple’s Phil Schiller said, “With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs.”
The new iPad is available starting Tuesday, February 5 at $799 for the WiFi version or $929 for the cellular /WiFi version.
It has a 9.7-inch Retina display, FaceTime HD camera and it runs on a new Apple A6X chip.
Apple has sold more than 120 million iPads to date.
