A new navigation feature on view at CES from JVC Mobile is called “Active Radio.” It delivers weather and emergency alerts specific to your navigation route to your JVC radio in an easy to read fashion.
JVC said it is the aftermarket brand to offer the new HD Radio traffic feature.
Active Radio is available on two 2013 navigation/radios including the KW-NT810HDT, which won a CES Innovations Award. The unit has a 7-inch screen with HD Radio traffic, Bluetooth, and USB smartphone control at $1099. A version with a 6.1-inch screen is the KW-NT510HDT.
JVC navigation decks for 2013 will also support control of iHeartRadio and Pandora over an Android phone (in addition to controlling Pandora on an iPhone, as in earlier models).
A total of 4 JVC navigation decks will be offered this year including the KW-NT700 7-inch touch screen radio at $999, now shipping and the KW-NT310 with 6.1-inch touch screen that ships in January at $799.
