Harman announced that Ford has selected it as a branded audio partner for selected future programs, marking a new partnership for Harman.
Harman also announced several additional new OEM contracts, including a first time partnership with Volvo to provide “ultra-premium” branded audio systems for the auto maker.
Together, the new Harman contracts amount to $800 million in new OEM business, said the company last week.
Harman also said it added new business with Maserati, BMW in Europe and it has contracts with 6 different OEMs in China.
Harman alreadysupplies software for HondaLink. Among its other OEM partners are GM and Chrysler. Harman designs, engineers and builds the Uconnect system for Chrysler.
For the recent quarter, Harman said it spent $54 million on net research and development for infotainment.
