TAMPA BAY, FL– AAMP of America –parent company of seven brands – celebrated the 25th anniversary of its founding by Micah Ansley in 1987.
It began as a small distributor of installation suppliers out of Clearwater, FL. The company grew quickly and launched the Stinger brand of cables, interconnects and car audio electronics and by 2000 it had expanded its in-house brands to include Peripheral, Sound Quest and Best Kits & Harnesses.
President Ron Freeman said, “Today, I would like to thank each and every employee of AAMP of America – current and past – for their considerable contributions. But, I would like to express my most sincere thanks to our customers – everybody from the mom-and-pop install shop to the large retail chain. These valued customers are the reason why we are here, and without their continued trust and support, we wouldn’t be here standing here today celebrating such a historic anniversary.”
In 2006, AAMP of America began shifting its corporate identity from being a products distributor to an industry technology innovator and manufacturer. It acquired Select Products and Pacific Accessory Corporation (PAC). In 2008, it merged the PAC and Peripheral brands and in 2010, introduced the iSimple brand and re-launched the Phoenix Gold mobile brand after acquiring it from Washington-based home and car audio company Rodin.
In 2011, AAMP of America acquired American International, giving the company domestic production capabilities and expanding its global car audio sales.
“I’ve been with AAMP of America since its earliest days, and have seen it grow from a small-scale distributor into a world-class mobile and consumer electronics company,” said Freeman. “But, as proud as I am of our past, it’s the future of AAMP of America I’m most excited about…. we are constantly pushing the envelope in terms of product development, sales strategy, marketing and technological innovation.”
In the next several months, AAMP of America will be opening a new engineering and R&D facility co-located at its Florida headquarters. Additionally, the company will be attending KnowledgeFest in August and the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January to showcase its brands, spotlight exciting new technologies and meet firsthand with business partners.
