An amazing little USB stick can convert a TV or car stereo (or computer) to an Android device.
It’s called the Cotton Candy USB by FXI Technologies and it includes a built in computer and an HDMI connector. It seems that when you plug it into a car stereo or TV, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) appears on the device. If you add an input device like a wireless keyboard, you’ve got a computer.
The USB stick itself includes a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A9-based processor and an ARM’s quad-core Mali GPU and 1GB of RAM.
With a workaround, you can even get Android Market on your TV or car radio, says The Wall Street Journal.
The device is expected to be available in the first half next year at under $200.
We asked FXI for more info on car stereo capabilities but haven’t heard back.
